Architects
It is the goal of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency to assist our developers in producing the highest quality of affordable housing.
The Technical Services staff will be responsible for reviewing architectural, engineering, and environmental documents for compliance with the PHFA design standards as well as construction monitoring. PHFA's design standards can be found in the Submission Guide for Architects. These guidelines have evolved over the years and contain information, ideas, and requirements that are proven to greatly enhance the potential for success of an affordable housing development.
The Technical Services staff does not review submissions for compliance with various laws, codes, and ordinances governing the design of the developments. Should staff find a discrepancy in a design that does not meet law, code, or ordinances staff will, as a courtesy, inform the architect of their conclusions.
From time to time staff will offer suggestions to the design professionals that may assist in the improvement of a developments design. These suggestions may be incorporated into the design at the designer and/or developers discretion.
